Stella Achenbach is a multifaceted Creative who was first introduced to web3 in 2019, during the NFT craze. Based out of Peru, it was through a digital fashion collective that Stella learned firsthand about the core concepts of blockchain technologies and also about some of the challenges that can come with sustaining a large group of free thinkers within the sector. Once the community she was originally part of dissolved due to differences in approach to open-source technology, Stella swam even deeper into the wider web3 ecosystem where she found a larger network and even more support for her own developing platform, The ALANA Project.

In nurturing The ALANA Project, (which is a collaborative co-op of "learners, creators, and builders" who work to create digital products that are accessible to everyone), Stella honed in on the necessity of tokenomics for good governance and committed to attending the Token Engineering Academy, while learning more about the inevitable "human coordination" that also goes into organizing complex decentralized systems.

This passion for using blockchain to aid in social betterment is also found in Stellas' contributions to Unlock Protocol, where she is a Lead Steward, and to the Octant App, where she serves on the Governance council.

When it comes to her love for public goods, Stella believes in Octants' power to help redefine what that process looks like for both donors and recipients throughout the space. She says; "Distributing funding across community and public goods projects by the people for the people... The GLM locking mechanism especially tends to make me think this way. Only if people are willing to give instead of extracting [can] these things work. In a way I think of Octant as a healthy experiment and I hope it will turn out as a blueprint for others to follow."
