In 2025, the artificial and the augmented are all around us, and are (increasingly) changing the fabric of our reality and lives. What isn't as available to the masses at the moment, is the understanding or applicable use cases of how this ever-expanding technology will help humanity close sensory gaps between the technical and the tangible. Ironically enough, the missing thread might just be found in fashion.
Sogand Nobahar and Nastaran Hashemi are Italian Creatives who are the Co-Founder and Co-Creative Director of Orbyline, a design studio and wardrobe collection that produces pieces in collaboration with AI and are meant to be first perceived on the wearer with the use of A.R. (augmented reality), then worn in real life by futuristic fashionistas with the assistance of 3D printers. Whether chic, metallic earrings (pictured below) sleek and sporty jumpsuits (pictured in the article thumbnail), or ethereal body jewelry that can rival accessories found in Queen Amidala's closet, Orbyline is making waves, and creating ways to bring the world of haute couture and web3 together.

When asked about what inspired their journey from catwalks to joining on-chain communities such as Octant, the ladies of Orbyline cite the failure of centralized infrastructures, and the lack of progress found in traditional sectors, like the fashion industry: "We both got involved in web3 when digital assets opened a way for us to bring our works to a global audience. To be completely transparent we started to get more involved when our centralized industries failed our expectations to an extent, and web3 was a smoother, more transparent space for what we have to offer as creatives." It's not a stretch that Nobahar and Hashemi would seek more expansive environments for their big ideals, seeing that they both credit some of the art world's most original and thought-provoking artists as their inspo; Nobahar praises the genre-defining works of Lucio Fontana, Arnoldo Mondadori and Yayoi Kusama, while Hashemi honors the intellectual strides of Designers and Artists like Nick Knight, Olafur Eliasson and Craig Green.
Nobahar and Hashemi found blockchain technology to be a bright light in the dimness of their creative tunnel, and a solution to the social issues that plagued their professional experiences. They believe that when it comes to getting others from outside of the sector, to explore the benefits found within, spotlighting the ways web3 can answer their unique questions and showing them how it applies specifically to their lived experiences is the most impactful form of advocacy: "The most fundamental factor is to demonstrate how THEY and their field of work relate to [web3]. Most of the time there are people aware of the possibilities but don’t bother getting involved because of lack of information o[n] how they can relate to and benefit from it. The best way is to provide transparent, detailed and precise information and most importantly accessible to everyone, without sugarcoating or over-generalizing."
